Russia and Pakistan are collaborating to establish direct flight services,a move anticipated to fortify bilateral ties and augment trade relationsbetween the two nations.

Muhammad Khalid Jamal, the recently appointed Pakistani Ambassador toRussia, underscored this initiative in his recent statements to TASS. Heemphasized the significance of these direct flights in fostering closerpeople-to-people contact and improving economic interactions.

Ambassador Jamal expressed optimism about the positive impact of resumingdirect air services, foreseeing a substantial contribution to bringing thepeople of both countries closer together and boosting trade. Heacknowledged the economic considerations involved, highlighting thenecessity for airlines to assess the profitability of these routes.

Reflecting on the past, the Pakistani envoy noted the existence of directflights that had previously resulted in an increased number of Russiantourists visiting Pakistan. However, financial challenges faced by airlinesled to disruptions in these services.
