For the first time, the US government spokesperson has addressed mediareports about the meeting between the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI), Imran Khan, and the US Envoy in Adiala Jail.
According to media reports, during the weekly media briefing, a journalistasked Matthew Miller, the spokesperson for the US State Department, aboutthe meeting between the US Ambassador and Imran Khan, who is currently inAdiala Jail.
In response, Miller suggested reaching out to the embassy for accurateinformation, stating that they could provide more precise details. Milleremphasized that the United States has repeatedly clarified that it does notendorse any specific candidate for political office in Pakistan.
The US has consistently maintained a policy of not intervening in thepolitics of any country, including Pakistan. He also highlighted that thePakistani government is in close and constant contact regarding theprotection of Afghan citizens awaiting US visas.
