PCB appoints Pakistani legends as Fast and Spin bowling Coaches

The Fast Bowling and Spin Bowling Coaches for the Pakistan Men’s Team areformer members of the 2009 T20 World Cup and 2012 Asia Cup-winning squads,Umar Gul and Saeed Ajmal, respectively.

They are set to debut in their roles during the Test series againstAustralia from December 14, 2023, to January 7, 2024, and the T20I seriesagainst New Zealand from January 12 to 21, 2024.

Umar Gul, previously the bowling coach for the Pakistan Men’s Team in T20Iseries against Afghanistan and New Zealand, along with coaching QuettaGladiators and Afghanistan in the ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup 2022,expressed his pleasure at joining as the bowling coach. He aims tocontribute to elevating Pakistan’s bowling prowess.

Saeed Ajmal, the former world no. 1 ODI bowler, is set to take charge asthe Spin Bowling Coach. He looks forward to contributing to the developmentof spin bowling talent within the Pakistan national team, drawing on hisextensive career and coaching experience.

Having hadprevious working experience with the men’s side, I will bring my coachingexpertise with the aim of elevating Pakistan’s bowling prowess to newheights.”

Saeed Ajmal: “I am truly honoured and grateful for the opportunity providedby Chairman PCB Management Committee Mr Zaka Ashraf to serve as the spinbowling coach. I am delighted to contribute to the development of spinbowling talent within the Pakistan national team. I believe my career andcoaching experience will help enhance the spin bowling arsenal of the team.”
