Pakistan Cricket Board has taken decision on the appointment of a newcaptain for the one-day cricket team following Babar Azam’s resignation.
Currently, due to the absence of a one-day match schedule for the nextyear, the decision to appoint a new captain for the one-day team has beendeferred. The Test and T20 teams’ captains have been formally selected,with Shaan Masood leading the Test team and Shaheen Shah captaining the T20team.
The coaching staff has also undergone changes, revealing the name of thenew head coach for the national cricket team. Media reports suggest thatMohammad Hafeez will take on the roles of the new coach and director forthe national cricket team during the Australia tour. The formalannouncement is expected soon.
Chairman of the PCB Management Committee, Zaka Ashraf, has barred thecoaching staff from working during the Australia tour due to the nationalteam’s unsatisfactory performance in the World Cup.
Meanwhile, Babar Azam’s four-year captaincy term, marked by severalmemorable victories, has come to an end. After a meeting with PCBManagement Committee Chairman Zaka Ashraf on Wednesday, Babar Azamannounced his decision to step down as captain.
