The draft for the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is setto occur on December 14 in Lahore, immediately following the conclusion ofthe National T20 Cup.
On Tuesday, a meeting of the HBL PSL governing council was held at theNational Cricket Academy in Lahore. Chaired by Zaka Ashraf, the Chairman ofthe PCB Management Committee, the meeting involved representatives from allsix HBL PSL franchises and PCB officials. The discussions werecomprehensive, addressing operational and logistical aspects of theupcoming PSL9 edition.
In light of the general election scheduled for February 2024, there was aunanimous decision to seek formal advice from the government of Pakistan todetermine the exact dates and venues for HBL PSL9.
The PCB will initiate this process by formally writing to the interiorministry for guidance. The key question is whether hosting PSL 9 inPakistan during the election period is feasible or if relocation,potentially to the UAE, is necessary. The final decision on the venue willdepend on the government’s directive.

As of now, the ninth edition is tentatively scheduled to take place from 8February to 24 March 2024.
