Pakistan’s newly appointed T20I captain, Shaheen Afridi, responded onWednesday to Babar Azam’s resignation as the team leader.
Babar Azam stepped down as Pakistan’s all-format captain following theteam’s disappointing performance in the ongoing World Cup 2023.
Soon after his resignation, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced thatShaheen Afridi and Shan Masood would lead the T20I and Test teams,respectively.
Shaheen Afridi spoke highly of Babar Azam, stating that it was an honorplaying for the Green Shirts under the batter’s legacy.
