On Wednesday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) revealed Shan Masood as theTest captain and Shaheen Shah Afridi as the T20I captain for the Pakistancricket team.
This announcement followed Babar Azam’s resignation as the all-formatcaptain due to the team’s disappointing performance in the ongoing WorldCup 2023.
Azam’s leadership came into question after the team’s below-par showing,resulting in their first defeat against Afghanistan in ODIs and theirinitial World Cup loss to South Africa in this century. Pakistan, led byAzam, finished fifth in the standings, failing to qualify for thesemifinals with eight points.
