PTI Chairman Imran Khan gets big relief from Court

An accountability court in Rawalpindi declined a 10-day physical remandrequest for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in the £190million settlement case.

The hearing, presided over by Judge Muhammad Bashir in Adiala Jail,resulted in the rejection of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB)Prosecutor’s request. Instead, the judge allowed NAB to interrogate Imranin Adiala Jail, maintaining his judicial remand.

Earlier in the day, the government approved the law ministry’s request foran in-prison trial in the case.

The £190 million settlement case involves money laundered during Imran’sgovernment in 2019, caught by UK authorities. Imran’s arrest in this caseled to accusations by the then interior minister regarding the funds, landregistrations, and alleged corruption involving Al-Qadir Trust.
