Former DG ISI Faiz Hameed lands in hot waters

The Supreme Court, addressing allegations against former spy chief Lt. GenFaiz Hamid (retd), emphasized the “extremely serious nature” of the claimsin a written order from the November 8 hearing.

The court stressed that such accusations “cannot be left unattended,”acknowledging their potential to undermine the reputations of the FederalGovernment, the Armed Forces, ISI, and Pakistan Rangers if proven true.

On November 8, a three-member bench, led by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa andcomprising Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Aminuddin Khan, dealt with apetition filed by Moeez Ahmed Khan. Despite acknowledging the gravity ofthe allegations, the bench chose not to delve into the merits of the case.

During the proceedings, the petitioner’s lawyer detailed the incident,stating that Khan and five family members were allegedly abducted by theformer spymaster on May 12, 2017. The lawyer further accused the retiredgeneral of engaging in land grabbing in exchange for their release.
