The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has formally communicated with theMinistry of Law, requesting the initiation of a jail trial for PTI ChairmanImran Khan in connection with the £190 million Al-Qadir Trust scandal.
The communication outlines that Imran Khan was apprehended in relation tothe Al-Qadir Trust scandal, following the issuance of arrest warrants bythe court on the preceding day.
Furthermore, it notes that the PTI chairman is slated to appear before theaccountability court for physical remand on the same day.
Highlighting the prevailing conditions of public law and order, the lettersuggests that conducting the trial at Adiala Jail would be more fitting. Inaccordance with Section 16B of the NAB Act, the NAB contends that the courthearing against Imran Khan should take place within the confines of AdialaJail.
