The possibility of a significant political alliance forming in Balochistanbefore the 2024 elections has emerged.
According to sources, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (N), NawazSharif, is expected to visit Balochistan soon, and this could lead to amajor political alliance in the province. The ruling party in the province,the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), could form an alliance with the JamiatUlema-e-Islam (JUI) and the Pakistan Muslim League (N), according toreports.
After the alliance, these three parties are expected to jointly contestelections in Balochistan, and the decision on the future Chief Ministerwill be made through negotiations.
There are reports that senior leader and former Chief Minister ofBalochistan, Jam Kamal, could join the PML(N) on the condition of beingmade Chief Minister. Additionally, before forming the alliance, the JUI hadalready set the condition of making Maulana Abdul Ghafur Haideri the ChiefMinister of Balochistan.
