During the ICC Cricket World Cup, Pakistan’s fast bowler Shaheen ShahAfridi has equaled the record of former captain Wasim Akram. Shaheen hasmatched the record for the most wickets taken by a Pakistani fast bowler ina single edition of the World Cup.
The left-arm fast bowler claimed a total of 18 wickets in the ICC CricketWorld Cup 2023. Wasim Akram had also taken 18 wickets in the 1992 WorldCup. The record for taking the most wickets in a single World Cup on behalfof Pakistan is held by Shahid Afridi. He achieved this feat by taking 21wickets in 8 matches during the 2011 World Cup.
