SC verdict in petition against former DG ISI Lt General Faiz Hameed

The Supreme Court has directed to refer to the relevant forum on thepetition filed against former ISI DG Lieutenant General Faiz’s actions.Chief Justice Pakistan, Justice Faiz Isa, along with a three-member bench,heard the petition against General (Retired) Faiz Hamid, includingallegations of abduction and other charges.

Complainant had appeared in SC against ISI Chief Faiz Hamid regardingalleged irregularities in Top City Housing’s transactions, stating that heand family members were unlawfully detained.

The petitioner urged the federal government to take action againstresponsible individuals. The petitioner appeared in court with his lawyerHafiz-ul-Rehman Chaudhry. The Chief Justice inquired about the seriousnessof the allegations and whether the power of attorney had been submitted.The lawyer responded that they are in the process of collecting the powerof attorney, leading to a brief adjournment in the hearing. When thehearing resumed, the Supreme Court suggested the petitioner approachauthorized forums.

The Supreme Court rejected the petition against the former ISI DG’sactions. It is noteworthy that previously, the Islamabad High Court hadissued notices to former Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and formerISI DG General Faiz Hamid for violating legal constraints after retirementand making misleading statements about various events under the Preventionof Electronic Crimes Act.

Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Justice Aamer Farooq heard the case ofRauf Pindi’s resident Atif Ali and issued a written order on the matter.
