New stunning allegations leveled against former COAS General Qamar Bajwa

Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) President Sardar Akhtar Mengalcriticized the PML-N-led government, asserting that they had utilized theircoalition, which included his own party, for their own interests. He alsoalleged that the establishment played a significant role in the formationof the coalition government.

In a recount of a conversation he had with then-Army chief Gen Qamar JavedBajwa after the submission of the no-confidence motion, Mengal revealedthat the general seemed to maintain a diplomatic stance on the issue.

Gen Bajwa appeared to be trying to appease both the Pakistan DemocraticMovement (PDM) and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to keep them contentand remain aligned with the eventual winner in the power struggle.

Mengal claimed that the PDM coalition might not have come together if therehad been no disagreements between Gen Bajwa and Imran Khan, as the generalappeared reluctant to upset either party.

It is worth noting that the BNP-M initially allied with the ruling PTI in2018 before later switching sides to support the opposition PDM with thegoal of toppling Imran Khan’s government in 2022. Despite this alliance, the party did not hesitate to express disapproval of the coalition’spolicies and occasionally even threatened to break away.
