Islamabad: Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja has stated thatthere’s no doubt that the Chairman of the PTI is a popular leader in thecountry, and in the upcoming general elections, the ballot paper will bearhis symbol.
Speaking informally with journalists, the Chief Election Commissionerexpressed his respect for the Chairman of the PTI, emphasizing theimportance of all politicians working together.
He also emphasized that the Chairman of the PTI should exhibit toleranceand play a constructive role in the political environment.
He further mentioned that he had idealized the Chairman of the PTI in thepast and pointed out that the symbol of the Chairman would be present onthe ballot paper in future general elections.
When asked about the reason for not holding elections on Sunday, the ChiefElection Commissioner jokingly responded that this would provide theschoolchildren with another day off.
Regarding the question of why the Inspector General Islamabad and theDeputy Commissioner Islamabad have not been changed despite a letter fromthe Election Commission, he suggested looking into the matter.
The Chief Election Commissioner emphasized that after the schedule forproviding level playing fields to all political parties is issued, allparties will be given an equal opportunity. He stated that all decisionswere made through consultation and that the Election Commission’s decisionsare currently accurate, despite often facing unwarranted criticism.
