Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir visited Azerbaijan, where hemet with H.E Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, asreported by the Inter-Services Public Relations.
The purpose of COAS Munir’s official visit was to strengthenmilitary-to-military cooperation and defense collaboration between Pakistanand Azerbaijan. This visit aimed to further the strong bond between thesetwo brotherly nations.
Throughout his visit, the army chief held discussions with various keyfigures in Azerbaijan’s defense establishment, including the defenseminister, 1st deputy minister, Chief of General Staff, and the Commander ofthe Azerbaijan Air Force.
During these meetings, COAS Munir emphasized the importance of expandingcooperation in the fields of defense and training. He commended the highmorale and outstanding operational readiness of the Azerbaijani ArmedForces.
Azerbaijan’s political and military leadership expressed their gratitudefor Pakistan’s continued support and expressed a commitment to elevatemutual cooperation between their countries and armed forces to new heights.
As part of his visit, COAS Munir was warmly welcomed at the General StaffHeadquarters and presented with a Guard of Honour. Additionally, he paidhis respects by laying a floral wreath at the Alley of Martyrs in Baku.
