ISLAMABAD:In a significant step towards enhancing bilateral relations,Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan have signed multiple agreements and memorandums ofunderstanding (MoUs) across various sectors during a ceremony held at thePrime Minister’s House. The event, attended by Kyrgyz President SadyrJaparov and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, underscores thecommitment of both nations to foster deeper cooperation in trade,diplomacy, and cultural exchanges. This development comes as Pakistanexpresses determination to elevate its trade volume with Kyrgyzstan to 200million US dollars within the next two years, marking a substantialincrease from current levels.

Notably, the capitals of Bishkek and Islamabad havebeen declared twin cities, a move expected to promote urban collaboration,tourism, and people-to-people contacts. Additionally, the Pakistan ForeignServices Academy and the Kyrgyz Diplomatic Academy formalized theirpartnership through another MoU, which will facilitate training programsand exchanges for diplomats, thereby strengthening institutional ties.

These MoUs are designed toharness Kyrgyzstan’s rich natural landscapes and Pakistan’s growing tourisminfrastructure, while energy agreements focus on sustainable developmentand resource management.
