Three Pakistan Army Soldiers Martyred in a suicide vehicle blast at Military Camp

ISLAMABAD: A heavily armed group of terrorists attempted to storm asecurity forces compound in Nokundi, Balochistan using a vehicle-borneimprovised explosive device (VBIED) loaded with approximately 500 kilogramsof high explosives, military sources confirmed.

The attackers detonated the massive bomb at the entrance gate in adesperate bid to breach the perimeter defences. Quick reaction teamsimmediately engaged the infiltrating terrorists in fierce room-to-roomcombat that lasted several hours. After an intense clearance operation,security forces eliminated all six terrorists who had managed to enter thecompound following the blast.

Three valiant soldiers of the Pakistan Army laid down their lives whilepreventing a far greater tragedy, while several others sustained injuriesand are undergoing treatment. The entire compound has now been completelysecured and cleared of any remaining threat.

Military spokespersons described the attack as a cowardly attempt to targetinnocent personnel and disrupt peace in the border region. The hugequantity of explosives indicates the attack was planned over an extendedperiod with external support, though no group has yet claimedresponsibility.

Nokundi, located near the Afghanistan and Iran tri-border area, haspreviously witnessed terrorist activity linked to separatist and religiousextremist outfits. Security forces have significantly intensifiedcounter-terrorism operations across Balochistan over the past year,eliminating hundreds of terrorists and destroying their hideouts.

The sacrifice of the three soldiers has been widely praised across thecountry, with citizens and leaders paying rich tributes to their unmatchedbravery in the face of an overwhelming explosive threat that could havecaused catastrophic civilian casualties had the terrorists succeeded intheir evil design.
