57 Soldiers martyred and 207 injured in Counter Terrorism Operations in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR)Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry on Friday presented a detailedaccount of Pakistan’s ongoing counter-terrorism campaign, highlighting theunprecedented scale of operations and sacrifices made by security forcessince January 2025.

The military’s media wing disclosed that 1,873 terrorists, including 136Afghan nationals, have been eliminated in the past eleven months assecurity forces maintained relentless pressure on militant networks acrossthe country.

In a significant revelation, the DG ISPR said 67,023 intelligence-basedoperations (IBOs) were conducted during the period, averaging more than 203operations daily, with Balochistan witnessing the highest number at 53,309,followed by 12,857 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Security forces also carried out 4,910 targeted operations, resulting in206 terrorists killed, including 140 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 49 inBalochistan, while 356 terrorist incidents were reported nationwide,primarily concentrated in the two border provinces.

The intense campaign has come at a heavy cost, with 57 personnel embracingmartyrdom and 207 sustaining injuries from the army, law enforcementagencies and civilian population, underscoring the resolve to eradicateterrorism.

Lieutenant General Chaudhry emphasised that security forces remain fullycommitted to dismantling terrorist networks, eliminating cross-borderthreats and denying militants any operational space through sustainedintelligence-driven actions.

The briefing reaffirmed that counter-terrorism efforts continue withundiminished intensity across all provinces, reflecting Pakistan’sdetermination to restore complete peace and stability in the country.
