ISLAMABAD: Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Kash Patel hasconfirmed that the individual responsible for the recent attack inWashington maintained operational ties with forces inside Afghanistan.
Speaking at a hastily convened press briefing, Patel stated that the bureauhad verified intelligence showing direct coordination between the attackerand certain elements s in Afghanistan.
“We are now conducting a comprehensive investigation of the entire network,whether it exists overseas or inside the United States itself,” Pateldeclared, describing the probe as the true scope of a major internationalterrorism investigation.
He emphasised that the FBI would keep the American public fully informedwhile ensuring the legal process remains unaffected until the suspect facesjustice in US courts.
Reports have surfaced that should the links to the Afghanistan-basednetwork be conclusively established, the United States reserves the rightto take decisive military action against those entities.
