Two women umpires nominated in T20 World Cup for the first time in cricket history

DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has nominated two female umpires in T20 World Cup for the first time in cricket history.

New Zealander Kathleen Cross and Australian Cailre Polosak will officiate the T20 World Cup which will begin in India next month.

It is the first time that two female umpires are included in ICC’s T20 event.

New Zealand’s Kathy Cross will officiate as a first female umpire in women’s match in Chennai on March 16.

The match will be played between the women’s team of Pakistan and Bangladesh and she will perform with Anil Chaudhary.

Claire Polosak will perform with Vineet Kulkarni on 18 March in New Zealand-Ireland women’s match in Mohali.

Kathy Cross umpired ICC women’s world cup in 2000. 2009 and 2013.

She was added to the Panel of International Umpires in 2014.

Polosak was also appointed as a third umpire for the Matador one day cup.
