PESHAWAR: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has decided to appoint PML-N Secretary General and Senator Iqbal Zafar Jhagra as the new Governor of KPK and the summary of his appointment has been sent to President House for approval.
According to Spokesperson of PM House, the summary of Iqbal Zafar Jhagra’s appointment was sent by PM Nawaz while President House also confirmed the receiving of summary.
Iqbal Zafar has transferred his vote from Islamabad to KPK as per PM directive because according to article 172 Governor must be a registered voter of relevant province for the appointment of Governorship.
He will take oath of KPK Governor after the approval of summary. Iqbal Zafar Jhagra was born in Jaghra, village of Peshawar. His father and grandfather was a part of Pakistan movement.
It is also worthy to mention here that former governor Mehtab Khan Abbasi resigned from Governorship due to taking part in parliamentary politics.
