Pakistan and Qatar sign long term LNG project worth 15 billion

DOHA: PM Nawaz Sharif arrived in Qatar on the invitation of Emir of Qatar accompanied with a high level delegation.

An agreement of import of Liquefied Natural Gas LNG from Qatar Gas was signed by Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Chairman of Qatar Gas.

The agreement worth $15 billion enables Pakistan to import 0.375 million tons of LNG annually which is equal to 20% of the need of Pakistan.

MOUs were also signed to enhance bilateral cooperation in the field of Health, Radio & Television, and Education & Research.

More than 115,000 Pakistanis are working in Qatar.

The focus of visit is to enhance bilateral relations in energy, trade, defence sectors and further the employment opportunities for Pakistani people in Qatar.
