ISLAMABAD: The World Wetlands day is being observed today throughout the world. The biggest lake of Asia “Haleji” has been destroyed due to the lack of interest of wildlife department.
As per details, “Haleji” lake is situated 82 km from Karachi, in Thattha, district of Sindh. It is also a historical, important lake and resort of Sindh. Wetlands have a lot of importance for our survival but this lake has been destroyed due to the negligence of relevant authorities.
A huge amount of capital is spent by developed countries in making the lakes but it is our misfortune that we have failed to maintain the beauty of these lakes. It needs immediate measures to restore the beauty of lakes in Pakistan.
