WASHINGTON: United States State Department has formally enlisted the ISIS Khorasan chapter as the Foreign Terrorist Organisation FTO after one year of its official formation.
The orders stated that “The Department of State has announced the designation of ISIS or ISIL as a Foreign Terrorist Organisation FTO under section 219 of the immigration and Nationality Act.
After pronouncing ISIS as the FTO, now strict restrictions would be imposed against the group, its supporters, financers, helpers and sympathisers through out the world.
The said decision has been taken in consultation with the US Department of Justice and Treasury.
The main purpose of the enlistment of the ISIS Khorasan chapter as FTO is to isolate the group and deny it the access to the finances as a part of the strategy of US Counter Terrorism Policy.
