KABUL: Umer Daudzai, a previous envoy to Pakistan, and a main restriction figure in Afghanistan, contradicts Ghani’s procedure of incorporating Pakistan in peace converses with the Taliban, saying Islamabad wishes to control the insurrection, a typical perspective in Afghanistan that Pakistan denies.
In lieu they says, a little gathering of Afghans, worthy to both sides, could begin contacts driving at last to up close and personal gatherings. “However, it would be Afghan-handled,” they said.
“For 10 years we went through Islamabad and it didn’t work. Pakistan will never give up its asset, which is most of the Taliban,” Daudzai said. “They are playing games.”Instead, he says, a small group of Afghans, acceptable to both sides, could start contacts leading ultimately to face-to-face meetings. “But it would be Afghan-brokered,” he said.
Daudzai’s feedback comes as Pak Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif meets with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in the coursework of a day-long visit to Kabul, where are relied upon to talk about compromise between the Afghan government and Taliban, and establishing a fringe administration component.
