CANBERRA: West Indian cricketer Chris Gayle has been fined Australian $10,000 over his below the belt talk with female TV reporter during live interview at Hobart, Australia.
As per details, Gayle was interviewed by journalist Mel McLaughlin during a Big Bash League T 20 match in Hobart.
“To see your eyes for the first time is nice. Hopefully we can have a drink afterwards. Don’t blush baby,” he said.
Gayle had to face criticism over his irresponsible talk with female reporter and he has been fined by his club. The amount of fine will be given to Megrath Foundation.
While addressing the press conference, Chris Gayle elaborated that he was just having fun with female reporter but his fun was presented out of context.
He further added that his purpose was not to disgrace reporter and if the reporter felt disgrace, he is sorry from the depths of his heart.
