KARACHI: While rejecting the claim of MQM senior leader Farooq Sattar, DG Rangers Maj. Gen. Bilal Akbar made it clear that MQM senior leaders including Farooq Sattar was informed about the arrest of MPA Kamran Farooqui.
While talking to a private news channel, Farooq Sattar alleged that evidences regarding the arrest of Kamran Farooqui were not shared by Rangers with MQM senior leaders.
Taking notice of the MQM Deputy Convener statement, DG Rangers revealed that a target killer group was arrested by Rangers who confessed to kill over 142 people while Kamran Farooqui was arrested over the strong evidences and identification of arrested target killer group.
DG Rangers further added that Karachi operation details were also shared with MQM leaders including Farooq Sattar.
He pointed out that businesses remained as usual and vehicles were brought on the roads despite of the strike call of MQM as people had been assured of protection and Karachi people continued their routine activities making strike call unsuccessful.
