ISLAMABAD: Director Foreign Affairs Shafkat Ali has been arrested by National Accountability Bureau team here at today over corruption charges.
As per details, NAB team conducted raid here at Foreign Office and detained Shafkat Ali Cheema over his alleged involvement in corruption. The arrested Director is desk in-charge of Sri Lanka, Maldives and Bhutan.
All the record has also been taken by NAB team in its custody related to arrested accused. According to NAB sources, Shafkat Ali has been arrested over making unnamed and more assets than his income while Director Shafkat Ali was also allegedly involved in human trafficking.
NAB officials claimed that millions of rupees have been found in the account of arrested accused while several plots worth millions are also under his ownership.
NAB stated that the arrested accused sold 200 blue passports after stealing and showed that those people were going abroad on official visit.
Shafkat Ali would be presented before court tomorrow and NAB would request court for his physical remand.
