PESHAWAR: (APP) The 45th meeting of Apex Committee held here under the chairmanship of Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zafar Iqal Jhagra on Thursday reviewed peace situation in KP and FATA with particular focus on return of temporarily displaced persons (TDPs).
The apex committee considered various steps for blockage of illegal cellular SIMs and to curb crimes including kidnapping for ransom besides progress on measures to overcome the illegal business of money exchange and foreign currency.
The members of the meeting were briefed in length on returns of TDPs. The committee expressed satisfaction over respectable progress on NAP, return of the TDPs and recommended necessary measures.
Earlier, KP Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra welcomed the participants of the committee and the whole nation stands united against terrorists and anti-state elements, adding that all the institutions and the nation are supporting the armed forces in the war against terrorism.
He said the sacrifices of the nation and officials of armed forces in the war against terror would not go in vein rather the fight would continue till the logical ends.
The Governor assured that all available resources would be utilized for respectable return and resettlement of the TDPs in their own areas.
The committee meeting was attended by KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, Corp Commander Peshawar Lt. General Hidayat ur Rehman, Chief Secretary Amjad Ali Khan, IGP KP Nasir Khan Durrani, Additional Chief Secretary FATA Muhammad Aslam, Principle Secretary for Governor Sikandar Qayyum, Secretary Interior, Insepctor General Frontier Corps Major General Shaheen Mehmood, Commandant Frontier Constabulary Liaqat Ali Khan and other high officials.
