In France, eighty people have been killed and one hundred and twenty others injured when a driver drove a truck at high speed into a crowd watching Bastille Day fireworks in the French Riviera city of Nice.
According to official sources, Police shot and killed the driver, who drove the heavy, long-distance truck hitting the mass of spectators.
Local government Chief Christian Estrosi told the media that the man had opened fire on the crowd and weapons were found in the truck.
The driver was not yet identified.
U.S. President Barack Obama has condemned the Nice incident.
