Pakistan-Iran open more official border points on Joint border line

ISLAMABAD, Aug 21 (APP): Director General of Iranian Interior Ministry’s Department for Border Affairs Majid Aqa Babaei has announced that two official border points will be added to Iran-Pakistan joint border lines.

According to IRNA, Iran, Pakistan add new entries to joint border lines.

Mirjaveh has already been the official border entry between the two countries, Majid Aqa Babaei said, noting that Rimadan and Pishin would be also used as exit and entry points

between the two neighbouring nations.

Before Rimadan in Chabahar and Pishin in Saravan, Mirjaveh border point had been the main border crossing point in Iran and

Pakistan 928-km border, the official said.

About the trade exchange between Tehran and Islamabad, the official said the figure had been around one billion dollars per year that is aimed to be increased fivefold.

To achieve that end, the new border points will play an effective role, he added.

Pakistan and Iran in recent days are trying to overcome the bilateral differences between the two states.

Recent visit of the Pakistan National Security Adviser General R. Nasir Jangua to Iran was also connected with improving the bilateral relations between the two neighbours.

Earlier Pakistan and Iran have also declared Gwadar and Chahbahar as the sister ports and agreed to cooperate with each other rather than confront on the two sister ports.
