CHAMAN, Aug 21 (APP): The Pak-Afghan border at Chaman remained
closed for fourth consecutive day Sunday with NATO supply and cross
border trade also remained suspended.
The border gate was closed by the officials of Afghanistan Border
Force four days back when local tribesmen of Chaman took out a rally
and torched an effigy of Indian Prime Minister Nirendra Modi to
protest his statements about the Balochistan situation.
Official sources said the Afghan border forces from their border
side filmed the protest by local tribes in protest against Indian interference into Balochistan and then closed the border for NATO supply and cross border trade.
The border closure have caused difficulties and problems for the
people crossing border from both sides to visit their relatives and
in connection with trade activities.
Tight security arrangements were made by Pakistani forces
on the border.
