LAHORE: (APP) Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif presiding over a meeting here on Thursday reviewed organizational structure and future programmes of Infrastructure Development Authority (IDA) Punjab.
Addressing the meeting, Shehbaz Sharif said that establishment of Infrastructure Development Authority was of paramount importance for infrastructure development in education, health and other sectors. He said that this institution would have a key role in transparent, speedy and high standard completion of infrastructure projects in these sectors.
The Authority would prove to be a role model for infrastructure projects in future, he added.
The Chief Minister said that the role of IDA was of vital importance with regard to ensuring timely and correct use of resources for infrastructure projects.
He appreciated Chief Executive Officer Mujahid Sher Dil on appointment of experts having professional capabilities in the authority and said that appointment of professional experts for authority was a good omen. He said that with the joining of such experts on merit in the authority, the institution would make great progress and people of the province would directly benefit from timely completion of infrastructure in education, health and other sectors.
He said that with the appointment of experts of international standard, best results would be achieved in a short period. He said that best experts of professional capabilities had been selected for IDA so there was a dire need to forward this model.
Shehbaz Sharif directed immediate measures for introducing similar models in important departments and said that like Infrastructure Development Authority Punjab, experts of professional abilities would have to be brought forward in other sectors.
Introduction of Infrastructure Development Bond should also be considered, he added.
The Chief Minister directed senior officials of Infrastructure Development Authority Punjab to work with determination and spirit in a professional manner for achieving the targets and all out cooperation would be provided to the institution in this regard.
He said, “Pakistan is all of us and we have to work jointly for its development,” adding that joint efforts would have to be made for progress and prosperity of the country. He said that no hurdles could be created in the work carried out with determination and spirit in a right direction.
Chief Executive Officer Infrastructure Development Authority Punjab gave a detailed briefing regarding organizational structure and future programmes of the institution and informed about infrastructure projects in the Health department in future throughout the province.
Provincial Ministers Tanvir Aslam Malik, Ayesha Ghaus Pasha,Advisor Khawaja Salman Rafique, Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Chairman Planning & Development and concerned secretaries attended the meeting.
