High Court Bar Association IOK stands against Indian Forces brutalities

ISLAMABAD: (APP) The High Court Bar Association (HCBA) in Indian held Kashmir, has strongly condemned the unabated killing, blinding, maiming and torturing of people by Indian police, military and paramilitary personnel in the territory.

The HCBA in a meeting of its Executive Committee in Srinagar deplored that Indian forces were engaged in a systematic genocide of the Kashmiris. By arresting the youngsters and detaining them in police stations and torturing, India will achieve nothing, it added, reported Kashmir Media Service.

The HCBA urged the UN Human Rights Council, Amnesty International and Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to take cognisance of the plight of the people of the occupied territory and put pressure on India to resolve the long-pending Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations.

The Bar members also condemned the statement of DG CRPF, Durga Prasad, who stated that the use of pellet gun is equivalent to wife beating. They said that the statement was not only shameful, but also bereft of any logic and it should, therefore, be an eye-opener for those who claim that the Indian forces in Kashmir was disciplined and they had respect for human dignity.

The meeting also paid tributes to martyred senior Hurriyet leader, Sheikh Abdul Aziz, on the occasion of his eighth martyrdom anniversary.
