Grade 21-22 promotion case hearing in Supreme Court

ISLAMABAD: (APP) The Supreme Court on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of bureaucrats promotion case till November 17.

A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali heard the case regarding promotion of grade 21 and 22 officers.

It may be mentioned that Central Selection Board’s (CSB) committee awarded five numbers extra to some officers due to which some other officers seniority was affected.

The affected officers filed the petition in the Supreme Court, pleading that they were deprived of promotion due to partial attitude of the CSB.

During the course of proceedings, Additional Attorney General Afnan Karim Kundi submitted a report in the court. He informed the court that the government had decided to withdraw decision regarding awarding of five numbers to some officers.

The court directed the Additional Attorney General to submit a list of officers, who were promoted after getting five additional numbers from the CSB and adjourned hearing of the case.
