LAHORE: (APP) Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Shaharyar M Khan has expressed the optimism that Pakistan team will put up encouraging show in the tour of West Indies.
“Our team is a balanced one and has a good combination in which the experienced has been gelled with youth, keeping an eye on Pakistan’s future in the game,” he told the media here on Friday at Gadaffi Stadium.
He said that the team prepared well at an extensive training camp where efforts had been made to do away with its weaknesses.
“A lot is expected from the young players who have been included in the team due to their superb performance and fitness, and experienced players are in the team to sustain the pressure with their rich experience and expertise,” said the PCB chief.
“Good luck Pakistan team, our best wishes are with you,” he added.
To a question, he said the PCB is making efforts to invite foreign teams to visit Pakistan after successful holding of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final in Lahore earlier this month.
“We are in process of dialogue with Bangladesh Cricket Board to send their team to Pakistan in due course of time,” said the PCB chairman.
Answering a question, he said that after the resignation of International Cricket Council Chairman Manohar Shashank, no name has yet come up for the election of the new chairman.
“It is too early to say that who will be the new chairman of the ICC as Monhar has resigned a couple of days ago,” he said adding “We expect to have a progress on the elimination of BIG 3 from the ICC setup in the next two months, during the meetings of the ICC.”
