KARACHI: Pakistan former Cricket Team Captain and the legendry Batsman Shahid Khan Afridi has been honoured by Pakistan.
Former captain Shahid Afridi has been appointed as ambassador of the fifth blind cricket world cup by the Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC).
Pakistan will host the fifth edition of ODI blind cricket world cup in January next year at the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan, simultaneously.
An official of Pakistan PBCC confirmed to geo.tv on Friday that the flamboyant all-rounder has, on request of the council, consented to become the ambassador of the event.
“Pakistan Blind Cricket Council feels pleasure to inform you that upon our request Mr Shahid Khan Afridi, International Cricketer & Former Captain of Pakistan Cricket Team has consented to become the “Ambassador” of the 5th edition of ODI Blind Cricket World Cup,” the spokesman of PBCC said on Friday.
Syed Sultan Shah, Chairman, Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) thanked Shahid Afridi for this kind gesture and hoped that Afridi’s association with Blind Cricket would take Pakistan blind cricket team to a new height.
