PESHAWAR: A policeman was shot dead when armed assailants opened fire at a police mobile in Peshawar on Friday.
Armed terrorists opened fire at a police vehicle at Tehkal area of Peshawar due to which a policeman named Mazhar was killed whereas his partner sustained bullet injuries.
One of the terrorists was shot dead in the retaliatory fire.
SP Cantt Imran said that the area was cordoned off and a Bomb Disposal Unit was called to the crime scene.
The bomb squad examined the dead body and cleared the area.
Police launched a search operation in Tehkal and its surrounding areas following the incident.
