Indian Cricket Board BCCI losses 2 billion in ICC meeting

DUBAI – The five-day meeting of International Cricket Council (ICC) has on Thursday ended with India’s hopes as new governance structure and revenue model have been approved by majority of the members.

According to details, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was out-voted 9-1 on changing the governance system that threatened the Big Three structure.

Furthermore, BCCI also lost 8-2 on the revamped revenue model. It is pertinent here to mention that BCCI was the only member to have objected both financial model and governance changes. Sri Lanka Cricket also opposed the newly proposed governance structure.

As per new rules, India will get 293 million dollars annually instead of 570 for the next eight years, whereas, Pakistan will get 132 million dollars along with other seven members.

England will earn 143 million dollars and Zimbabwe will get 94 million dollars.
