PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Tuesday unanimously condemned US air strikes on Syria and asked the federal government for convening a joint session of the parliament on the issue.

The resolution moved by Fakhar-e-Azam Wazir of PPP carried signatures of Provincial Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Imtiaz Shahid Qureshi, Mohammad Ali of JI, Sultan Mohammad Khan of QWP, Rashad Khan of PML-N and Opposition Leader Maulana Lutf-ur-Rehman.

The House also appealed to all Muslim states to raise voice against the attack at the forums of both United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Deputy Speaker Dr Meher Taj Roghani, who were presiding over the proceedings, put the resolution to vote and the house adopted it unanimously. (APP)
