COAS General Qamar Bajwa visit to Parachinar cancelled today

RAWALPINDI – Parachinar visit by the Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javaid Bajwa has been cancelled today.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has postponed his visit to the capital city of Kurram Agency, Parachinar, due to bad weather in the upper regions, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Army Chief was to spend the second day of Eid on Tuesday in Parachinar to express solidarity with the victims of the latest terrorist attack in the tribal areas where at least 45 people were killed due to market area twin blasts. Initially, 35 people were dead before 10 succumbed to injuries and lost their lives, causing a rise in the dead toll. Many of these victims have been laid to rest.

However, a large number of the victims are under medical treatment. The injured people were transferred to developed medical facilities through rescue operations by the armed forces and other organizations.

ISPR said General Bajwa will resume his Parachinar visit as soon as the weather becomes clear for helicopter flight.
