NEW DELHI: An Army officer was injured on Wednesday during in an ongoing encounter in Pulwama district in south Kashmir, Police said.

“An army major (of 50 Rashtriya Rifles) was hit by a bullet during the encounter” a senior police official, adding that he was riushed to the military basehospital where his condition is stated to be stable.Earlier, security forces cordoned off New Colony Kakpors after a naka party spotted terrorists travelling in a vehicle.”During the search operation, terrorists opened fire on the security personnels triggering encounter,” the official had said.50 Rashtriya Rifles, Special Operation Group Pulwama and 183 CRPF battalion are involved in the operation. – TOI
