The Pakistani mango farmers and exporters are successfully achieving the standards introduced by European Union countries by virtue of the government’s support.
According to a spokesman of Punjab Agriculture Department, demand of Pakistani mango has increased, which has resulted in enhanced exports earnings.
He said Punjab government has initiated a project to tackle fruit fly problem through non-traditional techniques.
He said huge funds have been allocated for training of farmers to apprise them of techniques to kill fruit fly.
