LAHORE, (APP): The Lahore High Court ordered formation of a joint investigation team (JIT) comprising Inter Services Intelligence and Military Intelligence personnel to probe killing of an accused in an alleged fake encounter.
Justice Sayyed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi passed the orders while hearing a petition filed by one Muhammad Sher against killing of an accused Muhammad Hayat during custody in a fake police encounter in Sahiwal.
Earlier, DPO Sahiwal appeared before the court on being summoned and apprised about the case facts.
However, the court expressed dissatisfaction on the statement of the DPO and ordered formation of JIT to probe the matter. The court also sought JIT report within ten days.
