ISLAMABAD: A ten-member Pakistan contingent will feature in the 24th Al-Bareh International Sailing Regatta, to be held in December under the aegis of Bahrain Maritime Sports Association, Kingdom of Bahrain.
Pakistan Sailing Federation (PSF) has received invitation for participation in the event and it has decided to send a strong outfit in the event with two officials and eight players, said a news release issued here by Pakistan Sports Board on Wednesday.
The PSF has approached the PSB to arrange no objection certificate (NOC) from the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination. The PSB has assured PSF to provide administrative and financial support for participation in the event.
The organizers have invited all Asian countries to take part for top honorus.
As regards prospects of Pakistani players, few players have no international exposure but considering their performance they are expected to performed well and gain experience towards preparation of Asian Sailing championship and Asian Games 2018.Pakistan Sailing team won bronze medals 2012 (laser radial) and 2013 (laser standard).
