ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Saturday, while commenting on DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor’s response to the former’s statement, came up with a cautious response.“We all must speak with one voice to highlight Pakistan’s positive aspects. The military and civil leadership regularly meets at national security committee where we try to create harmony; therefore I’m hopeful that at the level of security committee the civilian and military leadership will continue to bring a hope to the nation and make the world confident about Pakistan,” he said while speaking to Samaa.Earlier today, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major General Asif Ghafoor held a press conference to elaborate on recovery of a Canadian-American family from Taliban custody.Responding to Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal’s remarks – that army commented on economy irresponsibly – Maj. Gen. Asif Ghafoor said the minister’s statement disappointed him.Ahsan Iqbal had said that: “DG ISPR should refrain from commenting on national economy. Irresponsible statements could hurt Pakistan’s global image.” He was speaking to journalists informally in Washington on Friday.
