ISLAMABAD – Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal has said thatthey were aware of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and NationalDirectorate of Security (NDS) nexus.
Addressing a weekly news briefing in Islamabad on Thursday, he said thatrecent terrorist attack in Quetta has been traced back to Afghanistan,adding that this reinforces our stance that the terrorist safe havens inAfghanistan are being used for attacks on Pakistani territory. He saidthese attacks must stop.
The spokesperson denied the presence of Daesh and Taliban leadership inPakistan.
Dr Muhammad Faisal went on to say that both Pakistan and the United Statescontinue to communication with each other on various issues of mutualinterests at different levels.
“Pakistan has been facilitating the US led mission in Afghanistan throughair and ground lines of communication for the last sixteen years,” he said.
Pakistan’s support to the US has been critical in dealing with thechallenges of terrorism in the region, the spokesman said, adding that ourcooperation also helped to secure the region and decimate Al-Qaeda whichhas also been acknowledged by the US leadership.
Dr Muhammad Faisal reminded that Pakistan has fought the war on terrorlargely from its own resources which cost it 120 billion dollars over thelast 15 years.
He said arbitrary deadlines, unilateral pronouncements and shiftinggoalposts are counterproductive in addressing the common threat.
