BEIJING – A fleet of frigates under the People’s Liberation Army Navy haslaunched a real-combat drill to promote the operational capacity ofdifferent types of warships.
When the Navy fleet composed of Huzhou, Luoyang, Mianyang and Linfen shipsset off at 7:00, Huzhou suddenly received a message that an “enemy”submarine was spotted. The four frigates were then ordered to make fullpreparation to search and attack the submarine.
The data chain system kept receiving effective information about the”enemy” submarine and finally the sonar equipment on the Huzhou shiplocated the “enemy” after meticulous comparison and judgment.
The torpedo successfully hit the target despite the occurrence of dangeroussituations one after another. The fleet fired disruptor ammos at it whileadjusting their sailing direction and speed to elude being attacked.
