US could never have, so called won in Afghanistan without Pakistan

ISLAMABAD – Chairman Standing Committee on Defence in the Senate, SenatorMushahid Hussain Syed Tuesday said United States (US) could not achievesuccess in Afghan war without cooperation of Pakistan.Pakistan had gained immense success in war against terrorism, he saidtalking to a private news channel.

He said the whole nation, political parties and other stake-holders wereunited after tweet of US president Donald Trump against Pakistan.

Mushahid Syed said Trump had tweeted to please India and the biggest reasonof his anger against Pakistan was China -Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)project. “We all are united on national issues including Kashmir disputeand completion of CPEC.”

He said Pakistan was a sovereign country and would give strong reaction tothe statements of Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The US sanctions and curbs on Pakistan in the past had always givenbenefits to our country, he added.He said the world including Saudi Arabia and India had rejected the USpolicy on Jerusalem in United States General Assembly (UNGA).

Mushahid Hussain said after 9/11 incident, US had spent billions of dollarsin Afghanistan in war against terrorism but still did not achieve success.

Replying to a question, he said Pakistan had isolated India throughSpeakers Conference here in which China, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkey,Russia and Iran participated. These countries had endorsed the stance ofPakistan on Kashmir issue, he added.

He said Pakistan had a strong and strengthen democracy as compared to otherMuslim countries, adding the democratic system should continue in thecountry.

Former Ambassador to US and PPP central leader Sherry Rehman said Pakistanhad collectively reacted over the tweet of Donald Trump. “We had renderedsupreme sacrifices in war against terrorism.”
